Medical Devices Business Development Consultancy - Cambridge
A growing Medical Devices Consultancy, based in Cambridge, is currently looking to add an experienced R&D Engineer to its business development unit.
This organisation focuses on the cutting-edge R&D of life-saving and life-improving Medical Devices for third-party organisations that need help with their work. This assistance could be because they don't have an internal R&D unit themselves, their R&D unit is struggling with a highly complex problem, or they are running out of time. Due to this, you will be selling the services/time of the company's expert R&D units and the use of their cutting-edge labs.
Due to the focus of your business development, if your experience has only been selling physical Medical Devices, this role will not be suitable for you.
The term "business development" can sometimes intimidate people, but I can assure you that this is not a typical sales position. You will be having highly technical conversations with engineers and scientists to determine if this consultancy can assist them in the development of medical devices.
As you will be engaging in technical conversations and require an understanding of the R&D process, it is essential that you come from an R&D background yourself. This background could be in mechanical engineering, product development, electronics, or another R&D field involving the invention or improvement of medical devices.
It is expected that you hold a degree in a relevant subject. It would also be advantageous if you have a PhD, although industry experience will be more important.
We are open to individuals who have worked as Business Developers within a consultancy or another area selling time/services. We are also keen to speak with engineers who have been in client-facing roles and want to further develop their careers in the sales and business development fields.
This company is growing and is small enough that your work is noticed, meaning you can make a real impact. You will also be rewarded with an excellent starting salary, bonuses, enhanced pension, working on interesting and industry changing technologies.
I anticipate a high level of interest in this role due to the opportunity for growth. Therefore, if you are interested, I suggest you apply now to avoid missing out.
