Laboratory Technician

Kent   •  £23000 - £25500 per annum + + Bonus  •  Permanent, Full time


A fast-growing pharmaceutical company are looking for a new Laboratory Technician to join their expanding team. You will play a crucial role in the team by ensuring the timely completion of various technical service sample requests and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality within the department.

The Role

  • Completion of all allocated Concept, Library and New Formulation type Technical Service sample requests within the appropriate time limits/targets. This may include colour matching, manufacturing small scale samples, printing library type samples and coating placebos.
  • To assist with keeping SOPs, risk and COSHH assessments up to date and to report near misses and accidents as they occur.
  • To contribute towards Continuous Improvement within the department.
  • To carry out all duties in line with the company's Quality Policy.
  • To maintain good standards of GMP, GLP, H&S and general housekeeping within Flagship House laboratory and office areas.
  • To participate in the training of other Technical Services Laboratory staff and Area Technical Managers.
  • In general terms, the job holder may from time to time be asked to perform other duties as agreed with TSL Team Leader or Manager

Experience Required

  • Scientific Degree, ideally in a chemistry-based subject, or similar.
  • Practical work aptitude
  • Experience of colour matching is useful, but not essential.
  • Commercial Laboratory Work Experience or Graduate Placement
  • Sound understanding of principles of working within a lab environment (GLP and GMP).
  • Experience in document/ analytical checking ISO, GLP, GMP, COSHH and Health & Safety experience is useful, but not essential.
  • Computer skills (MS Office Applications)
  • Well organised and able to demonstrate strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work within a pressurised environment.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as within a small team.
  • Hands-on, flexible attitude.
  • Self-motivated & able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities.
