Responsibilities
· Understanding and contributing scientific knowledge to product manufacturing
· Writing and maintaining material specifications for the production process
· Collaborative working with quality and production to drive processes and maintain standards
· Support quality test sampling of materials from the production processes
· Understand manufacturing processes
· Characterizing materials to create specifications
· Source of product knowledge
· Disseminate product information through internal training and as a point of contact
· Product support for existing products and new product development
· Characterization of materials and devices in the laboratory
Essential criteria
· PhD in materials science or equivalent
· Specialism in crystalline ceramics
· Understanding of polymer chemistry
· Strong science communication and writing skills
· Able to design and execute targeted wet lab research
· Ability to pivot and use initiative to adapt and learn new skills as needed
Desirable criteria
· Experience working in a clean room
· Experience working with medical devices product support
· Understanding of the regulatory environment around ceramics and medical devices
· Experience in manufacturing of ceramics ideally in medical devices
· Experience in calcium based ceramics
