Process Engineer

Our client is a global technology solutions company, creating the next generation of advanced materials to improve mechanical, thermal and electrical properties for their client’s products.

An opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer with working experience in graphene, plasma enhanced materials and nanomaterials to work within their production department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BEng in Chemical Engineering or related
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing development environment
  • Ability to analyse process, identify improvements and translate into a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and practical use of production and process tools, such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, SPC etc.
  • A good understanding of materials and importance of correct handling, processing and storage.
  • A good understanding of mechanical systems and devices and an appreciation of electrical interactions.
  • Knowledge and practical application of KPis and metrics
  • Capable of liaising with internal and external suppliers to support needs of the company.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Make recommendations and develop improved material and process analysis techniques as and when appropriate, these should be supported by verifiable SOP’s.
  • Collate process parameters and liaise with the analytical staff to establish process trends.
  • Working with the analytical team, become conversant with testing procedures such that if required you could competently provide analytic support.
  • Establish processing SPC analysis
  • As and when required provide practical support for projects
  • Attend appropriate training courses, seminars and conferences as may be required by the company
  • Prepare formal technical and process reports for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain equipment, using external resources as necessary
  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to provide rapid product analysis and also become conversant with operating procedures such that if required you could competently provide support for production.
  • Understand operation schedule
  • Work within ISO guidelines
  • Ensuring good “5S” standards throughout the manufacturing area
  • Provide operation feedback to facilitate smooth operational performance and process development.
  • Undertake tasks required by the executive board in support of business growth and technology exploitation
  • Perform other tasks as maybe defined by the company executive in support of the business needs.

COMPENTENCY FRAMEWORK:

  • Proven practical hands-on abilities including work shop skills
  • Proven experience of leading and working within multi-disciplined teams
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with theability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks
  • Ability to prepare, analyse and interpret data
  • High level understanding in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, open minded and flexible
