Regulatory Officer

CK Group are recruiting for a Regulatory Officer to also be involved with health and safety duties with a chemicals and materials manufacturing company at their site based in Middlewich on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client manufactures and distributes a wide range of industrial chemicals used in the coatings sector. They are an industry leader in their field and due to expansion, they now have a vacancy for an experienced Regulatory/ H&S Officer to provide additional support to ensure compliance with HSE, ISO, Quality & REACH regulations. The company offers a salary in the region of £28,000pa dependant on skills and experience, as well as a bonus, pension, holidays rising with service, and an early finish on a Friday.

The Regulatory Officer will be based at the company's site in Middlewich, easily commutable from surrounding areas including Stoke, Northwich, Frodsham, Knutsford and Wrexham.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Complete REACH registrations
  • Manage Poison Centre registration
  • Review, update and manage all relevant regulatory documentation including MSDS, SOPs, controlled documents, and product data sheets
  • Manage and complete ISO internal and external audits
  • Review, update and manage health and safety documents including risk assessments
  • Provide regulatory advice and support
  • Complete health and safety audits/inspections and manage any actions to be taken
  • Manage all aspects of health and safety
  • Create Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for products
  • Research and check various sources for updated regulations, new consultative documents and other HSE and regulatory information relevant to the business and their products

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven H&S experience gained within the chemical manufacturing sector - essential
  • Knowledge of UK and EU Reach Registrations and/ or poison centre experience - strongly preferred
  • Any experience with authoring MSDS and using MSDS software would be beneficial
  • Experience and understanding of regulatory affairs within the chemical industry
  • Experience of managing Health and Safety documentation and systems
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of key business priorities
  • Personable, not afraid to challenge the status quo, innovative, friendly and approachable
