Cranleigh STEM is looking for a mechanical technician to join an innovative sustainability and clean energy business at its state-of-the-art facility in Cranleigh, Surrey.
I'm keen to speak with hands-on engineers and technicians who want to be part of a dynamic team. You will provide technical support in building and testing prototypes as part of the mechanical and electrical design team.
The Company has entered an exciting growth phase and is scaling up its operational capacity to meet the demand for its zero-emission systems. We are looking for enthusiastic and industrious Engineers to help deliver the company's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building prototypes.
- Adapt products for testing.
- Calibration of sensors.
- Read & edit CAD files and technical drawings in SoldWorks.
- Support during testing of prototypes.
- Work with the Engineers to create comprehensive test reports.
- Manufacturing of components in our Workshop.
- Ordering mechanical components.
Key Objectives:
- Deliver a working prototype of our LC-System alpha.
- Be a source of hands-on mechanical knowledge for our team.
- Ensure that the test stands, and the designs comply with the safety standards and show best practice.
Requirements:
- Experience as a hands-on technician or engineer within a technical environment.
- Some experience or knowledge of CAD / SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Computer literacy: familiarity with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Troubleshooting abilities.
- City & Guilds / Apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering bias would be highly advantageous.
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
