CK Group are recruiting for a Quality Manager to join a manufacturing company in the chemical industry at their site based near Barnsley on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client is a family-owned business who are world leaders in the manufacture and supply of bespoke materials and technologies amongst other products. They have recently invested a large sum into the site and are now looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the quality standards at the company's sites. The company offers a salary depending on experience and they invite applicants to state their expectations when applying. They also offer 25 days holiday, pension, discretionary bonus, life assurance, subsidised canteen and an early finish on a Friday.
Your main duties will be to:
- Take a leadership role in any external quality complaints and support positive management of the customer relationship over any quality issues that may occur
- Monitor and review internal and external product specifications and ensure compliance of test results with specifications
- Ensure that the QMS is aligned with the strategic direction of the company
- Provide guidance on matters such as compliance & industry best practices
- Drive a culture of learning, continuous improvement & best practice across the sites, researching and reviewing customer feedback and using this to improve quality processes and decisions
- Accountable for the delivery of internal and external audit programmes
- Own and develop the management of change process and change control
- Monitor KPI?s ensuring objectives are on target
- Investigate all non conformances to ensure that the root cause is identified and corrective action is implemented
- Support achievement of customers' requirements and satisfaction of products & services
- Evaluate new and existing suppliers
- Implementing new quality standards and changes to existing, where need dictates
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Previous quality management experience is essential
- Proven record in implementation and maintenance of third party quality standards including ISO9001:2015 (experience of working with automotive standards is preferred but not essential)
- Preferably a member of CQI or IQA Qualified
- Knowledge of ISO45001:2018 would be advantageous
- Current driving license essential
- Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas
