Cambridgeshire   •  Negotiable  •  Permanent, Full time

Medical Devices Mechanical Engineer - SolidWorks - Cambridge

A growing Medical Devices group are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can help with the development of life saving Medical Devices. Based in South Cambridgeshire, you will be using SolidWorks for the CAD design of new Medical Devices.

You will be working alongside inventors, physicists, engineers and scientists to develop these life saving medical devices and your CAD design abilities will be of paramount importance in the invention of these new Medical Devices.

Ideally, your past/current experience would have been developing medical devices to ISO 13485 standards, however if your experience has been on the CAD design of devices for the life sciences, pharmaceutical, scientific instrumentation or wearable tech sectors we would still be interested in hearing from you.

This role will not be 100% behind a computer, we need you to have a hands on engineering element to your mechanical engineering skills specifically for things like jig assembly, testing, instrumentation usage and other important skills for prototyping and testing the new technologies you will develop.

Knowledge of manufacturing techniques will be ideal, as you will use this knowledge when designing to make sure the products not only work but can also be produced.

It is expected that you would hold a degree within a relevant subject, however industry experience for at least a few years would be more important so we are happy to have applications from people who have learned on the job rather than hold a degree.

This company are offering an excellent starting salary, pension, bonuses, share schemes and other benefits you would normally expect with a blue-chip company.

I expect a lot of interest in this role, so if you do have the required background I'd suggest applying now or risk missing out.
