We are currently looking for a Head of Research - Entomology to join a leading company based in the London area. As the Head of Research - Entomology you will be responsible for leading a team of three scientists, leading your own projects and be the technical expert on insect behaviour and vector control.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced scientist with strong background on entomology and vector control that is keen to develop into leadership position.
This is mainly office based role but still highly technical.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Head of Research - Entomology will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. In this role you will focus on leading customer based projects that will focus on developing products that support the public health. Those products are focused on control and diagnosis of diseases as well as pest control.
2. You will be responsible for the supervision and line management of three scientists. Duties include: reviewing SOPs, day to day activities, technical support, training, setting objectives and appraisals.
3. In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert on entomology and vector control. You will be the main point of contact for technical discussions and you will be leading client meetings.
4. As the Head of Research, you will bringing new ideas to the wider senior leadership team to drive the company forward.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in Infectious Diseases, Entomology, Pest Control, Agriculture etc. Ideally you will hold a PhD.
2. Proven experience in insect behaviour and vector control either through a commercial organisation or Post-Docs.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with managing projects and staff.
