CK Group are recruiting for a Scientist - Technical Support to join a small biotechnology company that develop and supply PCR kits, to be based at their site in Harlow, Essex on a permanent basis.
Scientist - Technical Support Role:
This role would suit someone who is highly motivated and a self-starter with PCR Knowledge and Technical support experience.
Responsibilities:
? Resolving customer issues.
- Provide reactive and pro-active customer technical support.
-Often involves teleconferences and some lab work.
-Customer visits are also sometimes required, though this is less common.
? Assay Designs.
- The role involves designing assays for customers:
o Fast turnaround of standard assay designs using in-house design system
o Developing more complex designs
? Core lab assistance.
o Internal Technical Support for the business.
o Working with the Manufacturing group on assay development and validation.
Your Background:
? Bachelor?s degree in an appropriate discipline, e.g., biology, genetics, molecular biology etc.
? Extensive experience with any or all of the following technologies: KASP, Amplifluor, PACE, TaqMan.
? Detailed knowledge of PCR-based technologies.
? Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
? Good written English and presentation skills.
? Good people skills (this is a customer-facing role).
? Good knowledge of internet-based genomic resources
? Good general knowledge of genotyping technologies and applications.
