CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Engineer to join a company in the coatings industry at their site based in Middlesbrough on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client is a global specialist in a range of protective coatings against metal degradation. They provide innovative and flexible coating solutions for new clean energy & hydrogen generation applications, life extensions applications and wear coatings for industrial products. The company have recently undergone major organisational streamlining and have opened a brand new facility on its Middlesbrough site to centralise all R&D, technical and engineering capabilities in one location.
The salary for this role is £27,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Location:
The Technical Engineer will be based at the company's site in Middlesbrough, easily commutable from Sedgefield, Stokesley, Hartlepool, Durham, Sunderland.
Role:
The successful candidate will work within the technical team and take on a key role in developing the business' portfolio of coating processes with it's expanding customer base.
Your main duties will be:
- Carrying out hands on research and development into new coatings and process improvements
- Developing technical relationships with customers
- Providing day to day technical support to production staff, including troubleshooting and evaluating existing products
- Collaboration with fellow technical, engineering, production and commercial colleagues as well as independent working.
The role has scope to develop for the right individual to a senior level in a short period of time. Full training will be provided.
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- A technical background with a degree in metallurgy, materials science, chemistry or process engineering
- Good attention to detail, time management and project management skills
- Excellent client facing skills.
- Has a genuine interest in the technical development of coating processes and the analysis thereof
- Is excited to work for a small company and take on the responsibilities for bringing technical developments to commercial production capability in a short period of time
