Our Client is looking for an experienced Data Discovery Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring data completeness and data quality of the project Single Source of Truth throughout the phases of a Workload and Cloud Migration.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the SSoT (Single-Source-of-Truth) data repository is correct, current, and complete for all Source workloads (apps/servers) at all times;
- Ensure the SSoT (Single-Source-of-Truth) data repository is correct, current, and complete for all Target workloads (apps/servers) at all times;
- Ensure that data required for design, build and execution is ready and accessible for all migration project resources
- Ensure that all project resources are kept apprised of the current state of the data within the SSoT.
Education and Experience Required
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a consistent record of significant contribution level to the business, the company services technical community, and/or the industry
Technical Skills and Experiences:
- Meets degree educational requirements or has equivalent work experience for job code.
- 3-5+ years’ experience in technical IT (preferably in datacenter)
- 2+ years’ experience related to datacenter migrations
- Understanding of the data required to perform a data center migration
- Ability to learn new tools in a timely manner and to become a Subject Matter Expert in their installation and use
- Microsoft SQL Server SQL Scripting (creation and execution)
- Experience with ETL or similar data manipulation tools (e.g. IBM DataStage, Informatica, AB Initio, Talend, MooD)
- Understanding of configuration management principles
- Strong Excel skills
Additional skills desired but not essential:
- MS SharePoint
- Data Modelling experience
- Good understanding of Application Contexting process
- Basic understanding of configuration management tools (e.g. ESL, uCMDB, Atrium)
- Basic understanding of data gathering tools (e.g. Universal Discovery, Netscout, ADDM)
- Use of migration tools such as DoubleTake, PlateSpin, AppZero, Zerto, RACEMI
Non-technical Skills and Experiences:
- Demonstrates strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Capable of working with virtual teams across regions and time zones
- Proven ability to work in cross-cultural environments
- Able to deal with complex issues involving customers and vendors
- Demonstrated ability to aggregate, assimilate, rationalize, and normalize data from multiple sources
- Prior experience with application or infrastructure development projects
- Ability to interact with customers regarding business and technical information and issues
- Demonstrates strong team building skills - ability to work as a team
- Demonstrate strong initiative to learn with minimal direction

- Shares relevant or useful information in a timely manner
