CK Group are recruiting a Principal Scientist with a proven track record in setting up R&D laboratories, to join a growing biopharmaceutical company at their site in London, on a permanent basis.
The Role:
With our client looking to expand, and continue their success in other therapeutic areas, this role is key in shaping and delivering their research program. Key to this is refining existing formulations (in pre-clinical and clinical testing) and developing novel products for new indications. The successful candidate must have significant expertise in designing and executing experimental programs, and proven experience of working in a commercial R&D setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a plan of new lab facilities and help build a small team
- Help select suitable lab facilities in London.
- Design small scale feasibility and formulation laboratory studies (inc pre-formulation studies on target drug substances and formulations).
- Develop existing and design new IP landscape
- Develop formulations and processes suitable for pre-clinical and clinical studies.
- Perform in-process and finished product testing as required.
- Contribute to equipment upkeep and ensure compliance with GLP.
Your Background:
- PhD in Pharmaceutical sciences /Chemistry based scientific degree , with industry experience (7 years+)
- Proven track record in developing drug product formulations suitable for phase I, II and III stages of pharmaceutical development.
- Knowledge of Nitric Oxide chemistry, mass spectrometry or electrochemistry - DESIRABLE.
- Understanding of the formulation, reaction, or colloid science relevant to the design and characterisation of liquid, solid or gel products, gained through academic or relevant industrial experience.
- Previous experience in setting up laboratories
