Quality & Food Safety Manager

A rapidly expanding spin-out company is seeking an experienced Quality & Food Safety Manager to join its team based in Cambridge. As Quality & Food Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in leading the technical development of quality and food safety processes (BRC, HACCP, ISO) - whilst having the ability to manage internal and external safety audits.

Quality & Food Safety Manager responsibilities

  • Lead technical development of quality & food safety processes
  • Lead risk assessments for potential threats to product safety or quality
  • Lead management of key suppliers/contract manufacturers from a quality & food safety perspective
  • Lead internal and external quality & food safety audits
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to approve new products and processes to support production/product launches and lead continuous improvements
  • Assess and mitigate potential raw material, food safety and supply risks
  • Lead food regulation requirements for new product approvals

Quality & Food Safety Manager requirements

  • Proven experience in a food safety/quality management or equivalent role
  • Detailed working knowledge and understanding of quality & food safety management systems e.g. HACCP, ISO 9001 / 22000, BRC
  • Experience in designing and documenting quality-related policies and procedures
  • Ideally experience in manufacturing and supply chain quality and food safety audits
  • Strong written and verbal communication & presentation skills
  • An eye for detail, and excellent professional standards
  • Good IT skills preferably in MS Office including Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
