Are you an account/project manager in a Med Comms agency looking to transition into a business development role?

Previous related experience in a project management or business development support role;

Experience of participating in pitches

Strong project management skills

Overview of the role

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of activities related to client contracting and new business development plans and processes. The Commercial Manager will work closely with the Senior Commercial Director and extended Commercial team members to support all initiatives in business development and contracting. This role will collaborate with the business unit leaders and staff globally to ensure the timely execution of these processes and delivery of related programs.

Responsibilitys

Manage all post-contract execution activities:

Maintain central repository of executed contracts and related documents including the Contract Expiration List, the Client List and Conflict Tracker

Manage internal training processes so all internal agencies are trained on the critical components of new and revised client contracts.

Develop and appropriately distribute Corporate Governance documents (inclusive of key terms, conditions, requirements of client contracts) to the Corporate Governance Committee)

Manage and coordinate RFI/RFP processes:

Download and appropriately distribute RFIs and RFPs received from current and new clients

Develop, maintain and appropriately distribute the RFI/RFP tracker

Liaise with and support lead responding agency(ies) on responses to RFIs/RFPs

Maintain database of RFIs/RFPs, pitch decks, and TA decks

Manage New Business Development processes:

Conduct research to help identify new clients (pharmaceutical clients that have promising pipelines)

Conduct market analysis in order to identify new business opportunities, including target therapy areas, compounds, and target companies

Develop proposal, pitch and service offerings decks with guidance from Commercial Director and Managing Directors

Education, work experience and skills

Bachelors degree (life sciences preferred), Masters degree a plus

5+ years related experience in a project management or business development support role; Medical communications or pharmaceutical experience, a strong plus

Must have an interest in the life sciences / pharmaceutical
