A newly created role to join an expanding innovator within Life Sciences in a key leadership role

Working from their offices in Cambridge, this exciting role will lead the company’s offering of providing solutions and services to the gene therapy and gene editing sector. The role will take on the responsibility for managing existing supplier relationships whilst negotiating on new contracts with potential new customers. In addition you will be responsible for building a commercial team for the organisation and recruit a team to support a very exciting time of expansion and deliver sustainable growth through developing new business opportunities and activities.

The core responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Recruitment and development a commercial team focused on delivering new business opportunities and maximising returns from existing customers
• Lead contract negotiations; mapping out key milestones and deliverables in-line with stakeholders expectations
• Evaluation all new and existing business opportunities ensuring they are deliverable, sustainable and comply with organisational growth objectives
• Establish a strong network of contacts within the biotech/pharma industry
• Project manage cross functional teams to asses business development opportunities
• Continued Market Development analysis and identification of opportunities
• Effective client strategy management

What we are looking for:
• Higher degree/PhD in a relevant scientific field
• Proven commercial Life science experience (ideally biologics)
• Highly commercially aware with an ability and experience dealing with senior decision makers
• A natural relationship builder and able to use these to identify, foster and influence opportunities/decisions
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead/manage multi-disciplinary teams
• Effective negotiator
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must hold right to work in the UK
• UK driving license
