We are partnered with a Global Pharmaceutical Giant, and they are looking for a Legal Associate for a contract position. Please see below details.

Role: Legal Associate

Duration: 12 months

Rate: 17.95 per hour

Location: Bracknell 2/3 days per week, theother days working remotely.

[Primary Accountabilities]

The successful applicant is expected to support and contribute to the execution of the Venture Science strategy by supporting VS team members (based in Indianapolis, Boston, San Francisco, and the United Kingdom) as directed.

The key activities of the role will be:

Support the identification, evaluation and tracking of new opportunities:

oRecord and maintain relevant information detailing new innovations into internal caseload management information systems

oUtilize internal databases to provide clear reports and information, updated on a regular basis, to monitor activity, progress against objectives and drive decisions on new scientific areas and strategies

oContribute to identifying and evaluating opportunities that align with the priorities of Lilly Research Labs

oBuild and maintain (e.g. through the use of external databases) a thorough understanding of the external innovation landscape, aligned to Lillys areas of interest

oParticipate in calls with external partners (e.g. Venture Capital groups)

Facilitate the smooth running and optimization of VS processes and resources:

oAssist team members with basic legal requests (e.g. non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, fee-for-service agreements)

oCreate and improve upon internal resources to build VS team efficiency, transparency, and communication (e.g. through design and maintenance of SharePoint and MS Teams sites, template creation, etc)

oFoster strong foundations for the continuing expansion of the team, via polishing and writing out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

oContribute ideas for new processes and resources which improve the speed and effectiveness of the team without adding additional work and responsibilities for its members

Contribute to the maintenance of a strong internal communication network:

oWork with stakeholders across Venture Science, TAs, functional areas, Lilly Research Labs, Legal, Operations, and Corporate Business Development as necessary to support the identification and progress of deals

oPromote transparency through regular contact and information sharing with VS team members

Promote the development and maintenance of an extensive external network:

oLeverage your own personal network to develop or strengthen relationships with key members of the healthcare sector (e.g. academia, biotech, Venture Capital, peer pharma, government organisations)

oSupport team members in identifying and developing contacts and relationships with new potential partners

oSupport Lillys visibility and brand at regional conferences and partnering meetings

oMaintain an awareness of new and planned developments (e.g. new sources of innovation funding; strategic initiatives in new areas of healthcare etc) that could deliver new areas of opportunity

[Requirements]

Should have at least a B.Sc in a scientific discipline related to the pharmaceutical industry (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, etc)

Strong database and computer skills; detail-orientated

Talent for analysing and visualising complex data

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize quickly, drive to solve problems

Excellent project management and organisational skills

Superior English communication skills (written and oral)

Evidence of the strong interpersonal skills required to coordinate with Lilly team members, primarily remotely (email, video call, phone etc), and occasionally face-to-face

[Additional Skills / Preferences]

Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical business and drug development process

An awareness of industry trends and new areas of scientific development

Basic programming skills for business-relevant (Microsoft) applications

Experience/proficiency with SharePoint and MS Teams
