CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Advisor to join a lubricant manufacturing company in the chemical industry at their site based in Shrewsbury on a full-time permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client is a large lubricant manufacturing specialist operating across Europe. They have built a worldwide reputation for their high quality products for use across a range of industries. This is including, but not limited to, passenger and commercial vehicles, agriculture, construction and other broader industrial use.

Salary:
Per Annum £23,000 (depending on experience)

Location:
This Technical Advisor role is located in Shrewsbury. The location is easily commutable from Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, amongst others. The location is easily accessible by public transport.

QC Analyst Role:
As a Technical Advisor, you would be a customer-facing role, supporting the company's sales and marketing teams, providing advice to customers as to the products that they would require for their needs. This means that you would be building knowledge of the lubricants industry and developing customer service skills to become a key contact for customers within the company. With this, the role is offering a structured training scheme consisting of a blend of learning, including on-the-job, external courses, field visits and introductory rotation within the company.

Your main duties will be:

  • Support internal functions (field sales, export, marketing, telesales, etc.,) with technical advice to assist with sales growth. Seek solutions based on experience and technical judgement in the event the primary offer is not available.
  • Provide advice and assistance to external parties seeking solutions to lubrication questions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer technical service queries, arranging appropriate internal or third-party analysis or site visits if required, and closing each case with clear and comprehensive reporting.
  • Monitor and keep abreast of changes in industry standards and alert the business of any impacts on products marketed by Morris Lubricants or the company?s customers.
  • Monitor and report any significant trends arising from technical enquiries. Customer contacts should be recorded in the customer relationship management system (CRM) and/or special circumstances communicated immediately to appropriate staff.
  • Conduct lubrication surveys and prepare specific recommendation schedules as required.
  • Maintain industrial sector experience, with a willingness to develop specialist knowledge in this area with regards to engineering lubricants and to advise correct applications overcoming issues as required.
  • Maintain an overall knowledge of lubricants in all sectors to provide cover where required within the technical team. Training will be provided where required.

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Educated to ?A? Level standard (or equivalent).
  • Experience or an interest in one or more of our main sectors: Passenger Car / Commercial Vehicles / Agriculture / Construction / Industrial, however, full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Passionate about delivering excellent customer service, with a confident, friendly and assertive telephone manner.
  • Must be well-organised with excellent time-management skills to ensure that tasks are carried out in a realistic timeframe.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Educated to ?A? Level standard (or equivalent).
  • As this role may include some UK travel, it would be advantageous if you held a valid driving license.
