As a Laboratory-based scientist you will be involved in the development of a range of cell-based assays for the identification and profiling of small molecules.
Characterise small molecules in cell-based assays such as proliferation, ELISA and gene reporter assays, including assay development and troubleshooting
Develop cell assays to be used for HTS and small molecule profiling
Work collaboratively within the Mechanistic Pharmacology team and interact with multi-disciplinary research teams both internally and with external collaborators
Interpret and summarise data for presentation to different audiences
Communicate effectively, with openness and respect for the opinions of others
Prioritise work according to project goals and take responsibility for the timely delivery of his/her objectives
Maintain accurate and up to date electronic laboratory notebook
Maintain assigned laboratory equipment and/or duties
Maintain safe and effective working practices
Maintain knowledge of developments in the field
Highly committed, enthusiastic and with a passion for learning
- PhD in a biological science or a BSc in a biological science and significant experience.
- Research experience in drug discovery.
- Experience in Cell culture techniques.
- Experience in Cell based assays such as: ELISA, proliferation, immunofluorescence etc.
- Ability and understanding working with small molecules.
- Automation experience.
