PhD within Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Chemistry or related discipline.

Prior experience leading a team of up to 5-15 junior PK/PD Scientists

The use of Pharmakinetics, Pharmadynamics & Pharmacometrics aiding in the advancement of new medicine from preclinical lead molecule identification to clinical post-drug approval.

This can only evolve with the help of PK/PD Scientists, responsible for developing the right drug with the correct dosage to the patient using Model Informed Drug Development (MIDD) approaches. In order for this to take place a Senior Director/Executive Director is required to lead the team of PKPD Scientists to support the portfolio advancement.


Within this stimulating scientific and leadership role, the ideal candidate will provide mentoring, training, strategize and deliver a service to alleviate patients health globally.

Minimum Requirements

-PhD Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology,Drug Metabolism, Pharmakinetics or Chemistry or equivalent e.g. MD in related sciences

-Expert with MIDD for drug discovery/development applications

-Minimum 10+ years experience within PK/PD & PMx, relevant drug development or similarly related discipline.

-Previous experience in a drug discovery & development in pharmaceutical setting

-Previous supervisory experience, as well as exceptional inter-personal skills, team building skills and demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of juniors effectively.

-Capable of managing & leading teams of up to 15 within a therapeutic treatment department.

-Have an exceptionally high level of scientific and business acumen, in order to manage resources provided efficiently aiming to exponentially grow the company.

Additional Considerations:

-Candidates must be willing to engage travel to an appropriate degree in order to support the business (travel time estimated to be less than 5% annually).

Key Responsibilities

-Providing leadership and support to the PK/PD Scientists in advancing and applying clinical pharmacological and quantitative system pharmacology strategies to solve queries, impact portfolio decisions and resolve issues.

-Review & analyse global regulatory documents, Clinical study reports, Analyse plans, Study designs, consulting with scientific and resolution plans.

-Implement strategies in order to increase cross-functional partnerships to a pinnacle, as well as prioritize efforts to implement new scientific capabilities.

-Completing performance reviews/performance plans, administer mentoring & coaching to staff to facilitate their career development within the company.

-Allocating and prioritizing resources, implementing departmental and divisional strategies, as well as implementing quality standards.

-Have involvement within intra- & inter- departmental committees and scientific forums to benefit portfolio content, resource management and contributing to the scientific and strategic direction of the organization.

-Complete tasks as a PK/PD Scientist as seen necessary.

-Take on responsibilities delegated nu the AVP of Global PK/PD & PMx
