Job Title: Senior Management Accountant

Reports to: Financial Controller

Location: Slough, Berkshire (2 days pw in office)

SUMMARY

This is a high-profile role responsible for:

The day-to-day operations of Corporate HQ and Health entities, ensuring compliance with Companies accounting policies and IFRS.

Completion of statutory accounts under UK GAAP.

Continuous improvement of processes.

SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

This role provides the opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to work at the Corporate HQ of a dynamic and successful FTSE 15 company. RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

Management Accounting

Ensure high quality Management Accounts are submitted for Corporate Headquarter and Health entities.

Liaise with Shared Services team for the areas of management accounting that have been outsourced.

Monthly review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations prepared by Shared Services.

Monthly completion of Balance Sheet Reconciliations not outsourced.

Prepare monthly analytical reviews and ensure actions are closed in a timely manner.

Responsible for Fixed Assets maintenance and periodic reviews.

Statutory Accounts Preparation

Draft the Statutory Accounts for various HQ companies and present the accounts to senior management in a clear and concise manner.

Support external auditors as part of half year, hard close and year end reviews. Work with them to resolve any audit queries timely.

Projects

Support the Financial Controller with continuous improvement of processes and controls.

Support with SAP benefits realisation projects.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

The position is suitable for a qualified accountant (ACA qualified or overseas equivalent) with up to 2 years experience post qualification. This is key to ensure technical appreciation and efficient execution.

SAP, HFM experience would be desirable.

Advanced Excel skills

Knowledge of UK GAAP, Companies Act and best accounting practice essential with experience in the preparation or audit of UK Statutory Accounts.

Demonstration of a sound and well-structured academic background (degree or equivalent).

Also experienced in clear coherent intelligent presentation of information for use and understanding by all staff, from Corporate Controller and other company directors.
