Experimental Physicist - Microfluidic Chip Design - Cambridge

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experimental physicist to join a new team in Cambridge to work on their revolutionary biotechnology products.

This company are at the forefront of innovation and are developing a potentially disruptive product for their market.

As an Experimental Physicist, you will take a hands-on approach to a variety of roles including the design and development of microfluidic chips from surface preparation, functionalisation, through to driving them for heating and imaging them using fluorescence microscopy. Throughout the project, you will work with the team to refine and improve on existing experimental protocols and will also have the opportunity to help with testing and analysis of future platforms.

Because this technology is at the intersection of science and engineering, you will be joining a multidisciplinary team, working alongside engineers and fellow scientists, all with the same mission; developing products that will improve people's lives.

We are looking for physicists who love solving highly complex problems on leading edge technology and who enjoy hands-on R&D.

The right candidate should have the following experience;

  • You will have experience with microfluidic chip design.
  • Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy.
  • Strong academics in physics or a closely related field.
  • Any knowledge of Python for data analysis purposes would be highly beneficial.

In exchange for your skills and expertise, the company offer a highly competitive package with a variety of benefits and have world-class labs and workspaces for you to work on and develop technology.
