An opportunity has arisen in the East Anglia area for a Molecular Biologist with practical experience in cellular and molecular biology, immunology or molecular pharmacology.
Qualification and experience
PhD in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline. Candidates with MSc and 2-4 years practical experience in cellular or molecular biology with a focus on immuno-oncology, can also be considered.
The molecular Biologist will be required to design and perform experiments aimed at immuno-oncology target discovery and participate in projects on ongoing immuno-oncology research. Also, should be able to maintain 2D and 3D tissue cultures of primary cells and cell lines
The molecular Biologist will have the following experience and competencies:
- Hands-on experience in immunological and molecular biology techniques, also RNA/DNA extraction, qRT-PCR, ELISA, and western blotting.
- Hands-on experience in the use of flow cytometry for cell sorting and analysis
- Hands-on experience in fluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry
The molecular Biologist is expected to have excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to plan and execute experiments independently. Also, must be able to work well within a team.
The molecular Biologist will have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as good troubleshooting and IT skills.
