Job Title: Microbiology specialist

SRG are working with an expanding research and development organisation to bring on Microbiology specialist to assist in the management and delivery of cell-based projects

The role:

* assisting with the generation of workplans, managing the technical content & execution of the project and managing project timelines, ensuring on time delivery.
* to pro-actively engage in R&D based projects that benefit the team and lead to process improvements as well as produce and implement training packages.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Laboratories (microbiology, cell culture, virology and R&D)
* Provide operational leadership and project management including department budgeting
* R&D and laboratory operational support: procuring lab consumables, overseeing inventory, equipment maintenance, and actively supporting the continuous improvement of the R&D and scientific services capabilities.
* Ensuring work is completed in compliance to ISO 17025, ISO 13485, UKAS17025 and Health & Safety standards.
* Be the technical lead on cell-based projects
* Build and develop existing and new relationships with customers to increase efficiency and responsiveness in existing and planned operations.
* Develop team members and guide them on the technical progression path.

Skills
* PhD in Biomedical sciences related subject is desirable but not essential
* Strong background in microbiology, virology and diagnostic techniques
* possess significant technical knowledge and experience in cell culture & in vitro bioassays and will provide expert technical guidance to the team and will assist in technical investigations and troubleshooting where required.
* Expertise in Biofilm, microbiological tissue models and method adaptation would be preferred.
* Strong understanding of working within quality systems such as ISO 17025 and GLP
