Textile Engineer

The function of the Textile Engineer is to apply knowledge related to polymer-based materials used in nonwoven textiles

Key Responsibilities of Textile Engineer

  • Hands-on nonwoven design, development of equipment and processes for manufacturing polymer-based textile components,
  • To work closely with other members of team to develop technical capabilities and expertise related to polymeric raw materials, textiles and finishing processes
  • To generate work instructions, test methods and to establish process specifications.
  • To participate in new-product development related to nonwoven components
  • To develop design and process specifications
  • To develop project plans to assess and incorporate technology into the manufacturing of both existing and new products
  • To identify issues and resolve problems
  • To improve existing processes, manufacturability, and sustainability
  • To work closely with suppliers and other departments within the company

Education & Experience:

  • PhD in Engineering discipline such as Textiles Science, Textile Technology/Engineering or Materials Science
  • At least 5 years’ experience within a technical textile industry
  • Experience as project manager and expert in nonwoven textile

Textile Engineer will have the following Skills:

  • Experience in the development of synthetic polymeric components involving textiles-based products and processes, textiles engineering and manufacturing.
  • Hands-on nonwoven design and development experience
  • Hands-on skills with proven ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment to technical problems
  • Experience in product development, creative design, prototyping, and test method development.
  • Ability to handle several projects at the same time
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
