MOCVD Technician

CK Group are recruiting for a MOCVD Technician to join a materials manufacturer in the carbon technology industry at their site based near Huntingdon on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client produces graphene technology for use in the semiconductor, sensor and energy harvesting markets.

Location:
This role is located in near Huntingdon which is easily commutable from Cambridge, Peterborough and surrounding areas.

MOCVD Technician Role:
Your main duties will be:
? To support the activities of the team with processing of materials and preparation to ensure relevant activities can take place in an organised and timely manner.
? Provide timely, reliable support across all growth research activities to support the operations of the team and the Company
? Run standard processes to support growth research on both MOCVD and ALD deposition systems
? Prepare equipment parts and consumables as required for the MOCVD and ALD deposition systems
? Perform material and electrical characterisation on growth research samples (AFM, Raman, XPS, electrical measurements such as sheet resistance and Hall Effect)
? Collect data and communicate results and observations, providing recommendations where appropriate for process improvement
? Manage substrate stock and consumable orders
? Liaise with the Equipment Team on routine maintenance tasks to optimise equipment performance and reliability
? Through a hands-on rigorous experimental approach, trouble shoot problems and issues, develop and progress solutions identified from the findings

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following essential requirements:
? Materials Science/ Engineering/ Physics degree or equivalent
? GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths as a minimum
? Hands on, industry based experience of working in an R&D/ lab/ production facility
? Experience of fabrication and/ or characterisation of thin film materials or devices

It would be an advantage but not essential to have experience of the following experience:
? Operating a range of deposition techniques & characterisation equipment, such as MOCVD, ALD, Raman, AFM, XPS and SEM
? Experience of working within a clean room
? Experience of vacuum equipment maintenance
? Understanding of quantitative performance analysis, e.g. SPC, DoE
? Understanding of basic electrical and electronic engineering
? Background in electronic devices
? Demonstrate an active interest in 2D materials
