A pioneer of cutting-edge biotechnology products in Cambridge are looking for a junior assay development scientist to join their research team.

In this role, you will be trusted to develop cell-based assays and support several screening programmes across the company's portfolio. An understanding of phenotypic screening and ability to develop assays will be essential in this role. This position is open to recent graduates too, but you must be able to demonstrate a passion for biotechnology and a basic understanding of assay development.
Reporting directly to the CSO you will be afforded with the freedom and autonomy to make this role your own and will be provided with all the tools you need to be a success in this position.
The company's target time to market is two to three years and they are well backed by their parent organisation. This means that you get all the benefits and fun of working in a fast-paced start-up, coupled with long-term security.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;
- Experience with developing complex screening assays.
- Mammalian tissue culture experience/knowledge is vitally important in this role
- Addition experience with the automation of cell culture and screening would benefit your application.
The company are open-minded on this hire and place a lot of emphasis on the personality of the scientist and so will provide training if you are perhaps missing some of the experience needed for this role. We are ideally looking for a scientist with 1 to 2 years' worth of lab experience but as mentioned above, we are open to recent graduates too. You will be employed on a one-year fixed term contract initially with a view to extend and/or make permanent.
In exchange for your skills and expertise, the company offer a highly competitive package and the chance to join an exceptional team of up-and-coming scientists and bring new ideas to realisation. They also provide a bonus programme and healthcare/pension options as well as a car allowance.
