Senior Scientist, Manufacturing and Process Development

As the senior upstream process development scientist, you will work directly with the Director of Research to manage the cell culture manufacturing needs of the company while providing critical scientific leadership.

The senior leadership at the manufacturing site will provide training, day-to-day oversight, and on-site support.

You will take a leading role in development, optimization, and engineering of the company's cell culture manufacturing.

Responsibilities will include extracellular vesicle batch manufacturing, processing, purification, analysis, release, and post-production manipulation (e.g. vesicle loading).

You should be very comfortable with coordination of multiple external academic and/or contract research groups, as this will be central to your management role.

PhD and 4+ years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant discipline with strong foundational knowledge of cellular biology and mammalian cell culture systems

Hands on experience in mammalian cell culture and process development, with specific expertise in hematopoietic cell culture and HSC differentiation in vitro

Experience with commercial cell culture manufacturing and with different scale/format culture platforms is desired

Experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry for cellular characterization; experience with a broad range of cell assays would be advantageous

Cell product downstream processing experience, including steps such as purification, volume exchange, formulation, and product preservation

Experience with EV production, isolation and characterization

Good Laboratory Skills - including practical organization and implementation of experiments within an SOP controlled lab environment, and good practice in documentation and record keeping. Experience and/or understanding of working within a quality system-controlled laboratory is desirable.
