As Production Editor you will:
- Direct and oversee the production of a UK biomedical journal from submission to early online publication, ensuring operation adherence to the organisation's working methods, procedures and systems.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day handling of the journal including submissions, peer review, accepting manuscripts, sending proofs, checking paper set-up, sending final proofs, creating invoices and checking payments.
-Act as intermediary between editors and authors regarding any issues related to ethics, figure manipulation, plagiarism and pre-published papers, and where necessary, raise queries with the Deputy Editor in Chief.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level within a science discipline and have previous experience working as a Production Editor within a publishing company. The company are also happy to consider applicants 1 year plus scientific publishing experience wishing to step-up into this role. Knowledge of InDesign is required.
