Role profile:

This role has come about due to expansion and growth of the client-base for a successful custom chemistry and antibodies distributor based in the US and UK. The customer-base covers the following life science sectors: pharma, bio-pharma, medical research, and academia and drug discovery.
You will act as primary point of contact for all customer account management activities, such as:

* Develop and maintain long-lasting and fruitful business relationships - identify new contacts, make in-roads and build rapport with decision-makers

* Understand the individual needs of each customer and develop plans to address them, support and train customers to use specific features of the products and services

* Ensure timely and effective delivery of solutions according to needs and objectives as required by each customer

* Development of new business with existing customers by identifying opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell

* Close collaboration with customer care team, management and product development teams to identify and highlight new opportunities within your territory

* Competitor visibility - monitor and track what your competitors are doing and offering in your space

* Forecasting and tracking on key metrics (quarterly and annually), preparation and presentation on account status which communicates progress and growth of accounts visible to external stakeholders

Your background:


* BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or closely related discipline

* Approx. 5 years' experience in a sales or account management role from within the life science industry

* Sound influencing, presentation and communication skills, speaking as expert-to-expert, executive and C-level

* Background in delivering successful client-focused solutions to suit individual customer needs

* Demonstrable background of operating in a fast-paced and innovative environment

* Solid use of CRM (Salesforce, Zoho, or HubSpot for example), with good proficiency in Excel

* Proven background in managing a number of ongoing customer account management projects simultaneously, whilst maintaining focus on where the next account is coming from
