Programme Manager

London   •  £35000 - £50000 per annum  •  Contract/Temporary, Full time

My client are an industry leading institution in the Life Sciences sector and looking for somebody to join their ground breaking project as a Programme Manager.

This role will involve working with researchers and engaging in the early careers space to advance their research approaches.
This role will be responsible for annual funding calls for the project including skills and transfer schemes.


* Promote the Centre's funding schemes through institutional visits, webinars and presentations.
* Support the funding schemes' application process including providing guidance to potential applicants, referee selection, presenting at applicant workshops, allocating applications to Panel members and compiling applicant feedback.
* Review the Centre's portfolio of early career awards including monitoring the progress of awards and collating outcomes and impacts to produce evaluation reports, scheme reviews and to monitor scheme performance.
* Work with award holders to ensure that the methodologies developed as part of their grants are published
* Work with the Communications team to produce impactful case studies, news articles, award announcements and other materials aimed at both scientific and public audiences
* Identify opportunities to work with other research funders on areas of mutual strategic importance
* Represent the organisation in a variety of collaborations and networks.
* Build and sustain relationships with key external stakeholders, including Panel members.
* Contribute to the evolution of the organisations research funding strategy, schemes and policies.


* PhD in a biological science (in vivo experience is desirable)
* Experience working within a funding environment is desirable
* Experience as a post-doc researcher is desirable
* Ability to engage in scientific issues, with credibility at all levels
* Experience within a general commercial setting organising events, meetings and workshops.
