As part of our growth, Albumedix has a unique and exciting opportunity where you will head up and manage our new viral vector / vaccine application research group.
Albumedix is an established and expanding biotechnology company focused on enabling better therapies for patients worldwide utilising our superior recombinant human albumin products and technologies. Your role will be key to help shape and support the realisation of Albumedix’ business objectives in enabling advanced therapies.
As leader of the Viral Vector Application group you’ll be responsible for driving team performance and provide expertise in the production, particularly downstream processing of viral vectors / vaccines both within the Technology Group but also within the whole organisation. You’ll initially line manage 3 team members with the expectation of growth within the team. To begin with, as the group is developing and growing, the role will involve hands on laboratory experimentation for the realisation of the viral vector application projects.
You will be working closely with the Technology Group teams in addition to the Market Development, Business Development and Project Portfolio Management teams to develop tailored solutions to meet customers’ challenges and satisfy market needs.

The role will be based in our new Technology Centre laboratories located on the Albumedix campus in Nottingham.
- You will be a BSc graduate or PhD in biochemical engineering, biochemistry, or other life science subject with 8+ years industrial experience from development and production of final viral therapies with hands-on experience in the downstream bioprocess and CMC unit operations.
- A commercial aptitude, preferably with a contract service background of viral-based therapeutics, as well as a practical understanding of the CMC challenges faced with such modalities.
- Demonstrate strong team leadership, developing a team and managing performance.
