My client based in Cambridgeshire, is a well-established pharmaceutical organisation working within drug discovery. Currently they are seeking a Scientist to join their Assay Development team, where you will be responsible for providing expertise within biochemical assay development and screening technology, supporting their structure and fragment based drug discovery programmes.

Predominately based in the laboratory, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise to support and advance a number of drug discovery programmes.

Key responsibilities:

* Develop biochemical assays to track structure-activity relationships and assess mode of action of investigational compounds

* Run enzyme/protein based assays, with the analysis and interpretation of experimental data generated

* Active participation and contribution to project team and group meetings

* Provide expertise within assay development to the wider team

To be considered for this opportunity candidates should hold a PhD within a relevant scientific area and have proven industry experience. Candidates must demonstrate an expert understanding of enzymology, and have proven industry experience within assay development. Assay development experience in either Fluorescence based assays, Kinase assays, or Kinetic/Mechanistic studies is essential. Candidates will be at a further advantage if they come from a Drug Discovery related background.

Candidates will be strong communicators with good presentation skills. Effective time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines is also essential.
