Do you have a proven background in Facilities & Laboratory Operations management?


Have you been responsible for managing and overseeing a large technical facility?

If so, one of our bio-pharmaceutical clients has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Facilities and Laboratory manager to join their Senior Operations team. Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, you will take a leading role in managing and aligning the Laboratory Support team to create a seamless co-ordination of cross-functional technical teams. Managing the day-to-day operations of both the chemistry and biology teams, you will co-ordinate health and safety, occupational health and general site functions.


Key Responsibilities:


* Facility management:

o Maintain the current facility, ensuring all day to day queries and issues are resolved effectively

o Maintain the ongoing relationship with the park landlord

o Responsible for organising, negotiating and communicating specific renovation, relocation or re-organisation projects

o Managing and maintain the shipping, logistics and storage functions


* Laboratory Support Services Management:

o Manage the laboratory support team, ensuring a consistent and high standard of laboratory support at all times

o Ensure each lab is fully serviced and provided with the required tools and equipment

o Create and communicate new SOPs and procedures to continually improve the laboratory support services


In addition to the above areas, you will also be responsible for:

* Health & Safety Management, ensuring all H&S documentation is updated and organised.

* Laboratory Purchasing, liaising closely with finance to source and price supplies.

* You will be required to develop and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers

* Equipment and Asset Management


Ideal candidates will hold a BSc (or equivalent) in a Life Sciences subject with significant Facilities and Laboratory Operations Management. You will have proven experience of managing a large technical facility within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology sector, with proven expertise in managing laboratory functions, health & safety and site operations. A formal qualification in Facilities or Operational Management would be an advantage. Ideally candidates will also hold a qualification in Health & Safety.


In addition to your proven facilities experience, you will display excellent communication skills and have the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent negotiation and project management skills are critical and you must have the ability to form effective relationships with colleagues and external suppliers.
