Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs Officer

Staffordshire   •  Permanent, Full time

CK Group is recruiting for a Environmental and Sustainability Officer to join an adhesives manufacturing company based in Staffordshire, on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities of this Environmental and Sustainability Officer will include to:

  • To ensure that the requirements of the company Management Systems for the Environment and Sustainability are understood and implemented across all UK sites
  • To support the Quality and Environment Manager and the SHEQ Systems & Compliance Manager in developing the Environmental management systems and culture in operation across the UK sites
  • Ensures that there are current Environmental Risk Assessments for relevant tasks in accordance with our management systems
  • Maintains the site accident log and environmental log, tracking both the incident and the follow up action taken
  • Ensures the sites accurately reports against the Environmental lead Indicators and the monthly Corporate reporting requirements
  • Identifies, and submits Capital project proposals to address identified Environmental concerns
  • Investigates all near misses, incident or accident reports, following up with the Department Manager\'s on the actions taken
  • Supports the introduction of new plant and equipment, and Management of Change, by reviewing the associated risks
  • Supports Departmental Managers in fostering Environmental awareness amongst their teams
  • Completes both internal and external audits to support the company in ensuring compliance to our Environmental and Sustainability goals
  • Keeps up to date with new relevant regulations by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education seminars

As a Environmental and Sustainability Officer you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Role holder should be degree educated
  • The role holder should be qualified to recognised Environment qualification or be working towards it
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Computer literate ( eg Powerpoint, Word, Excel )
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally at all levels
