In this lab-based role you will focus on the design, development and commercialisation of NGS assays and clinical workflows with world class performance, ease-of-use and hands-on time.
You will collaborate highly effectively with the broader R&D team on project planning, execution and reporting.
You will contribute to all aspects of NGS assay development, including:
Generation of a wide variety of targeted and whole-genome sequencing libraries and controls in pursuit of development goals.
Design, development and testing of assay reagents and workflows.
Execution of a number of concurrent assay development projects.
Supporting implementation of a Quality Management System and comply with its procedures.
Skills and Experience:
Postgraduate Degree in appropriate scientific subject
Specialist knowledge of NGS assays, especially whole-genome and targeted DNA and methylation sequencing
Experience with reagent formulation and assay workflow design and optimisation
Ability to concentrate and work under pressure
Good organisational skills.
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong team working ability
Ability to develop and apply new concepts and methodologies
Wide experience of both commonly used and specialised molecular biology methods, including troubleshooting
