The Government Affairs Manager role sits within the General Medicines Government Affairs team in the Corporate Public Affairs department. The team works across England and the devolved nations cross-functionally with our business franchises and external partners to shape the external policy environment to support optimal patient access to our innovative medicines.
To lead on the development of UK government affairs strategy to support the business objectives for selected priority therapy areas and selected broad access to medicines policy issues.
To drive implementation of related policy and government affairs initiatives in England, including development of company positions and asks and engagement with key stakeholders.
To understand and interpret impact of policy environment, working closely with relevant business franchise team members to identify opportunities and threats and deliver aligned activity.
To develop trust-based relationships with targeted high-level stakeholders relevant to the business such as government officials, regulators (e.g. national guideline bodies, HTA agencies), senior NHS managers and patient groups.
To facilitate effective trade association engagement to help achieve Novartis UK business objectives.
