Senior Optical Engineer - Autonomous Systems - Edinburgh
An Advanced Autonomous Systems start-up company are currently looking for a Senior Optical Engineer to help with the continued development of their pioneering technology.
Their technology will be integrated into a wide range of autonomous vehicles across the globe, meaning your work will be vital in keeping people safe and advancing an exciting field in its development.
Based in a start-of-the-art facility in Edinburg, you will be working alongside other physicists, engineers, electronics engineers, and other industry experts.
The company's parent organisation is based in the US, meaning there is a chance of moving to the US to advance your career further in the future.
We would expect that you hold a degree within a relevant optical engineering, electronics, physics or other field that led you into an Optical Engineering career. Alongside this it would be highly advantageous if you have a Masters or PhD also.
Apart from your education, you will need to have been working as an Optical Engineer within industry or a commercial post-doc role.
Knowledge of Optical simulation software will be essential, ideally Zemax, FRED, Code V or others. Apart from this, if you have any exposure to the automotive or autonomous industries it would be highly advantageous.
