We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior pharmaceutical manufacturing professional to join & lead our clients Manufacturing & New Product Introduction teams in Wiltshire.
Reporting to the SVP of Commercial Operations, youll be responsible for delivering the companys commercial manufacturing capability, in-line with their corporate strategy objectives. This will include developing & driving a culture of operational excellence, agility & continuous improvement to deliver quality compliant, technically robust commercial products.

Lead, resource and develop an effective organisation demonstrating accountability, customer service and continuous improvement that will deliver the product manufacturing, industrialization and transfer needs of the business
Be responsible for NPI program deliverables, performance, risk mitigation and issue resolution. Provide appropriate progress and financial updates to internal stakeholders including tracking of key milestones to ensure all relevant projects are delivered within scope, timescales and budget
Ensure products are manufactured to appropriate standards and delivered in accordance with agreed project plans by ensuring resources (people, equipment and facilities) are available and effectively utilised
Ensure that all manufacturing activities are continuously improved leading to increased efficiency, skills improvement and reduction of technical risk
Design, implement and maintain processes, practices and standards to ensure compliance with appropriate GMP and H&S requirements in all internal manufacturing areas
Provide leadership input to product manufacturing line configuration and automation solutions. Identify technology, capability and facility gaps in existing manufacturing capability and develop strategies to fill the gaps
Develop, maintain and test business-wide plans to ensure timely and effective restoration of manufacturing services in the event of a disaster
Develop appropriate outsourcing and in-house provisioning of NPI services and skills (e.g. contract manufacturer selection). Partner with Procurement to negotiate contracts and establish strategic relationships with key suppliers and CMOs
Provide insight, expertise and recommendations to the Operations Leadership team regarding solutions that enable an increase in revenue, improvement in productivity or supplier interaction, a reduction in cost or a reduction in risk or bring new capabilities to programs, products and services
Provide focussed leadership support to known problem component designs, component suppliers, sub-assembly suppliers and/or service providers
Ensure KPI requirements are captured and reported as needed to manage performance and identify opportunities for improvement including with CMOs and suppliers where appropriate
Ensure and maintain effective communication with business partners. Establish collaborative relationships with internal and external leaders and counterparts in partner companies and suppliers in order to shape opinions and foster innovation, best practice and service delivery
Act as lead contact and representative for NPI with internal leaders and external organisations e.g. supporting internal and external audits; attendance at Joint Steering Committees providing management support on critical operational NPI activities
Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and talent development including succession planning for NPI function in order to realize the potential and grow the capability of employees, enhancing levels of employee engagement
Full ownership of departmental budget, including the forecasting and allocation of resources
Degree-educated in a relevant Scientific/Engineering discipline
Demonstrable track record of accomplishment in pharmaceutical NPI & GMP product manufacturing
Experience in delivering operational excellence & continuous improvement
Experience of designing, implementing & maintaining process, practices & standards in line with GMP & H&S standards
Experience of introducing innovative solutions or technologies to existing manufacturing capabilities
Experience of developing, maintaining & testing business-wide contingency plans in the result of significant operational issues
Successfully partnered with & developed strategic relationships with external providers
Exceptional leadership & people management skills
Up-to-date working knowledge of ISO/MDR/GMP standards, ideally within medical/inhalation devices
Ability to engage & influence internal/external stakeholders, including third-party vendors
Results orientated & agile decision maker who works autonomously and proactively initiates solutions
Self-motivated & highly resilient, able to manage multiple competing priorities both effectively & in a consistently pragmatic fashion
