Optical Engineer - Complex Technologies - Cambridge
A complex technologies company, based in Cambridgeshire, are looking for an experienced Optical Engineer who will help with the invention of new optical technologies that will assist in several sectors, including Medical Devices, Robotics, Sensors, Oil & Gas, Transport and other complex fields.
Working alongside a number of other Optical Engineers and Optical Physicists, you will be improving on current ideas while also inventing new applications for different sectors. These sectors will help save lives and improve lives across the globe.
Some projects will involve you working on your own, while others will have you working within a team of people. Due to the times you will be working on your own, you will need to be up to speed with your fundamentals. Essentially, if you are given a pen and paper math or physics problem, you would be able to work on it with ease. Due to this, we find people with technical hobbies tend to still be able to work on the fundamentals with ease and enjoy them.
When modelling optical systems, you would mainly be using Zemax. If you have not used Zemax but have another optical software focus, we would still like to hear from you as training on Zemax could be provided.
It would be expected that you would hold a degree within a physics or engineering subject, or another field that led you to becoming an Optical Engineer or Physicist. If you also hold a PhD that would be advantageous, but not essential.
You will be rewarded with continual training, career development, excellent starting salary and benefits package.
So, if you have a curios and investigative mindset and would like to work on continually developing new far reaching technologies, I'd make an application now.
