Principal Troubleshooting Research and Development Engineer - Cambridge

A growing Medical Devices company, based in Cambridge, are currently looking for an experienced Troubleshooting Research and Development (R&D) Engineer or Systems Engineer who can help with the R&D of life saving electro-mechanical Medical Device.

You will be mentoring more junior members of staff, which will in the future give you the chance to man-manage them also. With this in mind, you will need to have a proved track record as a R&D Engineer or Systems Engineer where you have been focusing on the fault finding, troubleshooting and predicting technical systems problems.

Focused on this electro-mechanical medical device, you and your team will be focusing on the systems and controls of the device while also defining the processes for internal and external members of staff. This is a challenging role that calls out to people who enjoy investigating and working out problems.

Although this is a Medical Device an it would be advantageous for you to have worked in the Medical Devices sector previously, we are open to people from a range of sectors. Specifically, you will need to have been working in a highly regulated field like the Medical Devices sector, this could be in aerospace, robotics, oil & gas, sensors and other fields where you would have learned how to need to abide by change control procedures.

This technology is very complex, so we need your experience to have been on electro-mechanical devices previously. Along with this, a degree from a leading university is expected, with a PhD being advantageous.
