Emily Mills is recruiting for a Senior Device Development Engineer on behalf of an innovative growing manufacturing organisation, working in the field of microelectronics. This position is based at their site in County Durham and is offered on a permanent basis.
Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturer of flexible electronics. The company has recently been undergoing a period of expansion following the recent release of their flagship product, and will be working with instantly recognisable brands on the integration of their ultra-low cost integrated circuits into everyday products.
The role is based at our client's site in County Durham. The site is easily accessible by road from the A1 and A19, and there is plenty of free parking available on site. There are good public transport links from Durham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.
This position will sit in the R&D team. This team is tasked with finding solutions to overcome the immediate challenges faced from our client's process and device development (working very closely with Operations) and is also tasked with researching longer term challenges to enhance and improve our client's technology.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Manage research and development projects and activities
-Lead complex experimental work,
-Detailed process flows, and device fabrication
-Test, analysis and interpretation of device electrical performance
-Refinement of processes
-Evaluate process, device and technology requirements working closely with colleagues to introduce new technologies, resolve technical challenges and identify improvement opportunities
To be considered for the position you will:
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic engineering, physics, materials science or chemistry
-Good computer literacy skills including documents, spreadsheets, databases and presentations
- Have worked as a Senior Engineer
- Experienced in leading complex experimental work and managing R&D projects
- Experience of innovation and problem solving in the field of micro and nano electronics
- Have been in a senior position previously and will display the ability to work independently
