Location: NE with 50% travel
Territory: UK
Salary: £competitive plus bonus

Our client is a supplier of tools and reagents to the Life Science Research community worldwide and to support the growth of their UK operations they are recruiting a Sales Manager to focus on developing new business within the Research communities across UK academic institutions, research organisations, Pharma and biotech businesses.

As a UK Sales Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for developing new accounts and delivering sales of Research tools. The role will suit either a recent PhD looking to transition into Life Science sales or a proven Life Science Sales person looking for a new challenge with an established organisation with a reputation for quality. You must be confident and results orientated and happy to travel extensively (with frequent nights away) as this role will include c.50% travel. When not travelling the successful candidate will be office based from the NE.

The successful candidate will be ideally educated to PhD level (or equivalent research experience) in a Life Science (molecular, biochemistry or immunology preferred) discipline. You will have strong communication skills; a broader knowledge of techniques across the Life Science sector and a keen interest in engaging with Research professionals to understand the nature of their research. You will be success driven and results orientated and will be able to identify sales opportunities, offer consultative solutions and close negotiations to agree sales. You will be comfortable dealing with a wide range of individuals from Research Scientists, PhD,s/Post-docs, Professors, Lab Managers through to C-level exec’s in large Biotech/Pharma organisations across the UK.
