Head of Purification and Chromatography Transfer
Location - Birmingham

Role / Description
To oversee a multi-disciplinary department where the main focus is to sustainably transfer purification strategies, chromatography materials and protein panels for assay reproducibility processes to the manufacturing department. Excellent communication skills are required for this position.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
* To promote order and to provide management of a multi-disciplinary team whose function is to transfer manufacturing processes from R&D to manufacturing.
* Provide manufacturing support for esoteric materials such as chromatography reagents and antigens.
* Work with the project management officer and planner to ensure manufacturing cycles correspond to work schedule.
* To meet increasing manufacturing burdens and support the continuous improvement of such burdens.
* Conduct pFMEA / dFMEA on existing product processes and provide validated improvements for existing products.
* To ensure all methods are fully regulatory compliant.
* To ensure all product changes are managed and production can be repeated with the appropriate QC materials.
* To monitor and communicate progress with other senior staff members, such as highlighting delays, potential risks to projects and timelines.

* To be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (or equivalent)
* Several years' experience of protein purification
* Experience managing a large team
* To be able to validate and verify manufacturing methods
* Previous experience of project delivery
* Experience working with polyclonal / monoclonal antibody purification
* Previous experience of pFMEA / dFMEA
