A Medical Device manufacturer is looking for a Microbiologist to join their growing team. As the Microbiologist you will initially be employed on a 3-month contract, but with the view to becoming a permanent member of staff. The Microbiologist will be responsible for microbiological testing of In-Process, Water and Finished Product samples and will perform environmental monitoring. You must hold a degree in microbiology or related subject and have proven laboratory-based experience to apply for this role.

Responsibilities -

1 To work according to safety requirements of the Company and to ensure you are conversant of the "code of practice" for the laboratory.
2 Ensuring that all personal training in the company policies, SOPs, safety procedures etc is kept up to date and that these documents are followed on a day to day basis in line with GCLP (Good Control Laboratory Practice)
3 Performing Microbiological tests

* Growth, Counting and Identification of Microorganisms
* Bioburden testing of In-Process, Water and Raw Material Samples
* Sterility testing
* Microbiological media quality control
* Processing of Biological Indicators
* Environmental Monitoring of Cleanrooms for both viable and non-viable particulates
* Challenge testing
* Reading of Media Fills

1 Participation in OOS investigations
2 Recording all results as per cGMP standards

Skills and experience -

* Preferably a Degree in Microbiology or a relevant Qualification and experience
* 1 year experience in an Microbiological Laboratory as a minimum
* Experience in cGMP
* Experience and competency using aseptic techniques
* Excellent attention to detail including clear handwriting
* Excellent numerical, verbal and literacy skills
* Experience in Microbiological identification
* IT literate with practical understanding of Microsoft applications - Excel, Word and Outlook
