Scientist Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist

An exciting opportunity has opened for a motivated (Senior) Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist based in the Bavarian region of Germany to join a global leader with over 20 years experience in the field of drug discovery and development.
Our client develops best-in-class and first-in-class differentiated therapeutics on its systematic, unbiased and comprehensive infrastructure. You will have completed your PhD in bioinformatics, physics, computer sciences, biochemistry or related field. This role will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your strong programming skills like R, Python and Matlab and classical statistical methods such as Bayesian statistics, bootstrapping and machine learning approaches. You will have strong communication skills as you will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders predominantly with the Biochemistry and Mass Spectrometry groups.
The successful candidate will work closely with the other Bioinformaticians in the group to develop and maintain databases and streamline analysis pipelines to ensure timely delivery of results. They will also support non-computational members of the group in devising and implementing project specific analyses. Skills Required:

*Strong programming skills in scripting languages such as, R or Python and Matlab
*PhD in Bioinformatics, physics, computer science, biochemistry or related field.
*Classical statistical methods, Bayesian statistics, bootstrapping, machine learning
*Strong communication skills
*Experience analysing Genomics or Transcriptomics data; multivariate data analysis
*Strong communication skills in English; professional working proficiency in German

Experience Required:

*Postdoc or relevant experience
*Analysis of next-generation sequencing data (NGS)
*Computational analysis
*Experience in consulting with non-computational research scientists on experimental design and bioinformatics analysis
