Sales Manager, Laboratory Instrumentation

Our client is a global market leader and supply a broad range of products and services to the scientific community Worldwide. They work with many of the sectors global brands, Industry leaders and SME's within Research, Manufacturing and Academia and sell globally to the Pharmaceutical, Life Science, analytical chemistry and related markets.
They are currently looking to recruit for a Sales Manager to support and develop a team of experienced sales professions and manage a multi-million pound territory value. The role will be a hands-on field based role and the successful candidate will be out with their team c4 days per week with some time working from home with addition to time spent in Head Office. The role would suit an experienced Sales Manager who has a proven track record of managing a sales team and delivering multi-million pound sales targets within the scientific arena. They will be a supportive and coaching figure who can provide the team with leadership and direction to achieve their individual targets. A strategic sales perspective is essential as the individual will guide the team in developing their accounts, looking to secure commercial partnerships with their clients for mutual gain. A proven background selling higher value lab instrumentation is essential and the successful candidate will also have evidence of selling to & opening up opportunities within global leaders within the Pharma, Biotech, Chemical organisations and Research communities within the UK.
Applications are welcomed from degree qualified (or equivalent industry lab experience) scientists with several years field sales experience. Applicants must have Sales Team Management experience and must have a proven track record demonstrating sales growth. They will have a background working with customers within the scientific communities, ideally within the academic, pharma and biotech sectors. Excellent communication skills are essential and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership characteristics along with examples of being able to mentor/coach and develop sales professionals to achieve year on year growth and increased performance. In addition, applicants will be able to provide evidence of where they implemented and developed key strategic relationships with customers to achieve great sales and profit. A full UK driving license is essential.
The position will be covering the UK so applicants must be prepared for extensive travel and nights away from home.
