*An ever-expanding leading Medical Communications agency based near Manchester is looking to offer an experienced Scientific Team Lead a highly competitive package*

One of the leading global Medical Communications agencies, based near Manchester, currently require an experienced Scientific Team Lead with over 6 years of medical writing experience to join their medical writing team. As the Scientific Team Lead, you will assume the lead position over a team of medical writers varied in experience from a strategic and editorial point of view.

This is the perfect opportunity for a Principal Medical Writer who has strong mentorship and training experience who is looking to take the next step away from delivery and focus more on the line management and strategy of their own team. Alternatively, it provides an excellent position for an existing Scientific Team lead to assume oversight over a larger team, delivering larger projects within a supportive environment.

Lead and manage a team of medical writer varied in experience
To be responsible for the delivery of a variety of large global projects on time and in line with company standards
Appropriately manage all resources and budgets, including freelancers to ensure all targets and deliverables are met.
Continuous review of the teams works to ensure high standards of writing and editorial work.
Lease across the appropriate departments for effective project delivery
Conduct appraisals and performance reviews to keep standards high and team members motivated
Train and mentor team members where needed to develop the team and individual careers.
Recruit Scientific team members as and where needed.
Maintain and develop expert-level knowledge within the required therapeutic areas

Required skills;
Life Sciences related degree (MSc/PhD preferably)
A minimum of 6 years of medical writing experience in medical communications.
Experience of line management or mentoring and training junior team members.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations with experience of working to ABPI.
Excellent writing ability
Specialist Scientific knowledge within varied therapeutic areas
Excellent attention to detail
Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills.
High level of organisation and time-management.
Pro-active and enthusiastic.
