Lead Analyst

We have a fantastic opening for a Lead Analyst at a world-class Pharmaceutical company based in the North West (Merseyside). The main purpose of the role is to ensure the analytical team complete all analytical projects for Market Life Stability.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Key point of contact for the client on a day-to-day basis with support from the Manager
  • Effectively coordinate and lead the Market Life Stability team to ensure productivity, safety and housekeeping is run at maximum efficiency
  • Continuous review of best practice in relation to commercial and quality issues; ensure compliance to GMP and 100% ethical work standards
  • Develop, coach, motivate and provide guidance to team members through team building and reward/recognition systems
  • Review and approve all relevant documentation to ensure compliance with required standards
  • Schedule work and cross-training to meet all service levels
  • Perform all required technical duties to the correct standard and turnaround times
  • Perform analytical testing of finished products for Market Life Stability
  • In general: 25% leadership duties, 75% laboratory-based activities
  • Liaise and communicate with both internal colleagues and external partners
  • Generate and report accurate results within a defined timeframe

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Allied Sciences or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience of Method Development, Method Validation and Technology Transfer
  • Strong fundamental background in Chemistry
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience of pharmaceutical analysis in a development laboratory (GMP)
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Experience with a variety of modern analytical techniques (HPLC, Dissolution, GC, NMR, KF, LC-MS, Impurities, Spectroscopy)
  • Must have experience in stability/QC testing
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Investigative approach to resolving problems
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills
