Sarah Farrow is recruiting for a Senior Research Technician to focus on innovative projects on behalf of a range of industrial clients, related to materials, nanomaterial and composites and high-throughput formulations, to be based at our client site in Sedgefield, on a permanent basis.
Our client is involved in a number of high profile collaborations, working in partnership with industry to develop next-generation products and processes. They work across a diverse range of markets, including Healthcare, Food & Agriculture, FMCG, Electronics, Energy, Transportation and Construction.
This role is located on the NETPark estate, which is an internationally recognised hub for science and technology companies. The site is easily accessible by car from the A1 and the A19, and has good public transport links across the North East.
The main purpose of the position is the running, cleaning and maintenance of process measurement equipment and high-throughput formulation automated equipment, gathering data to support with the delivery of key innovation projects.
You will be responsible for:
- Application of a range of analytical and measurement techniques to the characterisation of material properties.
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment ensuring that it operates in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintaining consistent and documented records in compliance with HSE, quality and best practice requirements.
- Providing clearly documented records of technical data, decisions and methodologies.
The ideal candidate for this role will be suitably qualified in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or another relevant subject. Experience in formulation chemistry and/or in the use of process measurement equipment would be highly beneficial for this position.
